:::Composting anyone?:::

Ok, I know this has nothing to do with weddings, but back in April I posted about "Thinking Green" and thought this ties in very well. So with that in mind Josh & I are about to attempt composting our "kitchen waste".

I have been watching Planet Green a lot lately and thought I'd take the jump and give it a try. We've been doing well recycling and taking our own shopping bags with us when we shop & changed all our light bulbs to CFL's a year ago....I hope this goes well too!

Some of our great friends gave us their compost called the "Worm Factory". I haven't ordered my worms just yet, cause I wanted to do my homework and read up on it first so that we start out doing it right. Stay tuned for updates in a few months!

:::margaret + neil:::

Margaret & Neil are the most fun people to be around! It was such a blast capturing their day on Super 8mm film. As you can see from the footage Neil is such a crack up and always has Margaret laughing. Awesomely CUTE!!! And did I mention she is a gorgeous bride!

They had the largest wedding I've ever seen held at San Ysidro Ranch. I think it was about 125 guests...not large on average, but for that location, it was a snug fit for the dancing down in Coleman Cottage.

I'd like to thank Susan Dean for recommending me to them, and thanks to Jill LaFleur for such a great job coordinating this fun group. What a memorable wedding!

P.S. Below is a picture Susan sent me that her Assistant shooter for the day, Bryan McLain shot of us in action!

:::Good-Bye Toby:::

Ok, so I am a HUGE fan of The Office and of course the season finale was last night....after a long writers strike I was a tad bummed, but had a good laugh watching it. You can watch the whole episode on hulu.com. If your an Office addict like me, please post a comment so I know there are others out there :)

:::Dream Dinners:::

For those of you who haven't heard of Dream Dinners, you will be surprised at how amazing this program is! I've been doing it for the last 2 months and absolutely LOVE IT!!! It is especially perfect for full time working wives or mothers like myself. Instead of stressing each day of "what to make for dinner", it's already been planned for the whole month....and the extra bonus is that it has saved us a lot of money from eating out! With wedding season now upon us, it really is a lifesaver for me. They even have a "Couple's Night" if you'd like to go with your spouse or friend. dreamdinners.com.

:::a day at the park:::

What a fun day spending with this bunch! I am so proud to be related to them! From paddle ball to piggy back rides, it was such a blast! I can't wait till we can do another shoot together!! I am so happy we live in the same town...love you all!!! :)

::::Rochelle + Will:::

These two are the definition of LOVE. They are so great together that it was so fun to capture the emotions of the day. I had an awesome time capturing their whole wedding on Super 8mm film. Thanks to David Crane for the beautiful photography! What a fun day!

Congratulations Rochelle & Will!

:::Thinking Green:::

With today being Earth Day, many people are thinking of the environment and how they can contribute. I found a couple sites that help in showing small things that we can do and some that don't cost a dime ~ Green Talk has an article showing 18 ways we can do just that!

Also, I posted about reusable shopping bags back in Feburary, and since then my cousing Allani has started making her own & selling some really cute ones on Etsy. Check them out here at her shop "crazyladybugg's shop ".

I always knew disposable diapers were not eco-friendly, but didn't really know the statistics. So I found this site called gDiapers and found these statistics:

"Last year alone, 18-23 billion diapers went into landfills across America¹. That works out to be approximately 38,000 every minute and adds up to about 3.5 million tons of waste!"

WOW! So since I have so many friends that are having babies, I thought they might be interested in gDiapers.

Being "green" should be a way of life, not just one day of the year. I hope you can find a few ways you can change your lifestyle to help reduce your impact on the environment.

:::Fun Times:::

This is the super 8mm footage I took when my cousin and her family had their photo session with Jose Villa back in January. It was so much fun when they came for a visit. I really wished we lived closer so we can get together more often, but with the wide world of blogs & photo sharing sites, it sure helps to keep in touch. And since their visit, they have now welcomed their new son into the family....he was born last week! Congratulations Allani & Bob!
